Love's Fortune

Love's Fortune
The Ballantyne Legacy Book 3
Laura Frantz
Rowena Ballantyne is thrust into Pittsburgh society when her father returns home after being gone since his marriage to her mother. With her mother gone, her father feels the need to return to the family shipping business. But Rowena is having a hard time merging her rural Kentucky upbringing with her high society family.

I haven't read anything by this author before. That will now change. Her characters had depth and were so entertaining. The plot felt true to the time period, but wasn't cookie cutter. The story line was refreshing and drew me in. The descriptions were just enough to give me a beautiful picture in my mind. I felt like I was living the story. The romance was sweet, but not overpowering. Not once did I feel thrust into the middle of a series. Everything flowed and I had to remind myself that I was jumping into a story already in process. I'll definitely be checking out the other books.

I received this book free of charge from Revell Reads in exchange for my honest review.
